Lebanon's Ministry of Telecommunications introduced a project to upgrade the country's telecom network to 3G. The implementation is expected to increase the speed of mobile Internet services by 70 times. The ministry estimated the investment of $80.3 million including $15.7 million maintenance fees and a $36.2 million contract to Ericsson to upgrade the network. The network upgrade will be finalized in the next seven months.
