MTS-Uzbekistan Expands International Roaming.

TASHKENT, June 15, 2011 (TCA) - MTS-Uzbekistan reported the increase of its roaming partners by five more operators in May 2011. Starting May 2011, the company subscribers can use 3G roaming, i.e. the mobile Internet by means of high-speed package data transmission service, at networks of four more operators: MTN Irancell (Iran), Mfone (Cambodia), TMN (Portugal), Zain (Sudan). To be noted, the data transfer speed in the network of the roaming partner using 3G standard with HSDP technology can reach 3.6 Mbps. Presently, subscribers of MTS Uzbekistan with handsets supporting UMTS (HSDPA) standard, can access high-speed data transfer by using 3G roaming at networks of 126 operators in 80 states of the world. Moreover, starting May 2011 GPRS roaming service is available in networks of BaykalWestCom (Russia), MTN Irancell (Iran), Mfone (Cambodia). Thus, GPRS roaming is available for company subscribers at networks of 165 operators in 95 states of the world. Also MTS-Uzbekistan subscribers can use international roaming service in networks of 350 operators -- MTS partners in 180 countries.
